Hi, I wanted to share what happened to a friend of my wife’s recently at the dentist. She’s 85 now but still pretty active and sometimes comes walking with us and ‘the boys’ (my dogs) up in Kenfig.
When she went to the dentist she was kept waiting for about 4 hours and the dentist kept coming out and saying he was sorry, an emergency had come in. As she put it: “5 emergencies stretched believability!"
She was offered the opportunity to come back the next day and when she pointed out that she had to take two buses to get to the surgery and had already wasted the whole day, the receptionist’s reaction was “But you are retired, aren’t you?” as if that meant she had nothing purposeful to do in life and had nothing better to do than hang around waiting. She was seen about 20 minutes later!
