Tackling Ageism Training

Throughout 2016, the Commissioner will continue to run free training sessions on ageism, which explore how ageing impacts upon the lives of older people, their families and communities in Wales. The training also explores the unconscious prejudices that we can hold and how this affects the way we design and deliver services for older people and carers. The seminars also include a number of practical exercises that allow delegates to think practically about how to develop age-friendly communities and public services.

A total of 264 professionals have completed the training to date, from organisations such as Health Boards, Local Authorities, Police and Third Sector Organisations.
