How long will the Review process last?

The Commissioner will gather written evidence during autumn 2011 and will visit care homes to engage with older people from November 2011 until January 2012.

Following this, the evidence gathered will be subject to detailed analysis and recommendations will be published, as part of a report due to be published in June 2012, to address any concerns highlighted during the Review process.

The bodies subject to the Review must respond to the Commissioner within three months of the publication of the report, outlining what actions they will take to meet the published recommendations. The Commissioner will assess these responses to ensure that the proposed actions will meet the recommendations.

Further information or responses may be requested if the Commissioner feels that her recommendations will not be met.
