A Scoping Study on Information and Advice Services for Older People in Wales (.pdf)
The purpose of this study is to set out the broad picture of information and advice services for older people in Wales and to inform the Commission's work in this area. It takes into consideration the values that underpin the Commission‟s functions and related activities by the Commission and its partners.
The study reviews the background research relating to information and advice services for older people and identifies standards and models of good practice in designing and delivering services for older people.
The study focuses on what older people expect from information and advice services and the extent to which current services meet their requirements, particularly those of older people who are at risk of harm. It considers the impact of the current policy and financial climate on the development and sustainability of information and advice services. It looks at the different methods of delivery and the use of information and communications technology. It examines the geographical, equality and language aspects of services.
The study deals with information and advice services across a wide range of policy areas, but pays particular attention to integrated information and advice services and financial inclusion. It has been carried out using desk and web based research and structuredinterviews with older people, organisations working with older people and government departments and agencies.
